Responsibilities

• Create one engaging blog post per week for the CBN Business Blog, showcasing topics that resonate with our audience.

• Provide thorough proofreading and editing support for various CBN projects, including email campaigns, print materials, website content, and social media posts.

• Take charge of the monthly CBN email newsletter by curating and crafting high-quality content that aligns with our mission and values.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in writing professionally or in a leadership role (journalism, marketing, blogging, or similar fields).

• A strong portfolio showcasing previous work, including examples of blogs, articles, or other written content.

• Exceptional grammar, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to CBN's voice and tone.

• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with a remote team.

Time Commitment

• 15-20 hours per month

• Weekly email check-ins to stay aligned on content priorities.

• Biweekly virtual meetings to review progress, brainstorm ideas, and collaborate with the team.

Varied Responsibilities

Event Preparation & Wrap-Up: Assist with setting up the event space by arranging seating, decorating, and organizing materials. Help with clean-up and packing after the event concludes.

Guest Registration & Welcome: Greet attendees with a warm welcome, assist with check-in, and guide them to the appropriate areas.

Event Information Point: Be a resource for attendees by providing information about the schedule, activities, or amenities like refreshments.

Activity Coordination: Help facilitate event activities, games, or raffles, ensuring everything runs efficiently and attendees are engaged.

Volunteer Collaboration: Work closely with other volunteers, lending a hand where needed to ensure all tasks are completed effectively.

Material Organization: Keep track of event handouts, brochures, and promotional materials, making sure they’re distributed and available as required.

Event Flow Management: Monitor the event schedule, assist with transitions between activities, and manage crowd flow during busy moments.

Accessibility Assistance: Provide support to guests with special needs to ensure a comfortable, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all.

Join us as a Research and Discovery Volunteer to help uncover and spotlight the innovative brands, trailblazing CEOs, and groundbreaking initiatives shaping the Caribbean and its diaspora. Your research will directly contribute to CBN’s mission of connecting and amplifying Caribbean excellence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify emerging Caribbean brands, businesses, CEOs, and initiatives across various industries and conduct outreach accordingly

• Help Maintain our organized database of discovered businesses, contacts, and key information for CBN’s internal use.

• Monitor social media platforms, industry publications, and news sources for relevant trends and stories.

• Provide insightful summaries and recommendations for potential collaborations, blog features, or community outreach opportunities.

• Collaborate with the CBN team to prioritize and explore specific focus areas.

Qualifications

• Strong research skills with the ability to gather and organize information from a variety of sources (web, social media, publications, etc.).

• Passion for Caribbean culture, business, and innovation.

• Proficiency in tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and basic familiarity with database organization.

• Excellent written communication skills to present findings clearly and concisely.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Previous experience in research or market discovery is a plus but not required.
